CALLED TO CARE FOR THE LIFE GIVING WATERS OF CREATION

“Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream”

(Amos 5:24)

Who We Are

The Ecumenical Water Initiative is comprised of folks from the ELCA Lutheran Church, African Methodist Episcopal Church, United Methodist Church, and the Minnesota Council of Churches. As an ecumenical cohort of faith leaders, we organize around water and justice issues.

Grounded in Faith

As people of faith, we are called to be stewards of the Earth – to care for the life-giving waters of creation.

Water Equity & Justice

To live justly together, it is both a matter of stewarding the lands and waters God created, and of loving our human neighbor. When our neighbors lack access to healthy and safe water, we are not living into our call to care for God’s creation.

Called to Action

From marching for the climate to writing letters to our legislators, we believe that change starts with action.
